Dr. Kamal Morar is a board-certified Interventional Radiologist trained at the Cleveland Clinic, with nearly two decades of experience and more than 30,000 image-guided procedures performed. In clinical practice since 2005, Dr. Morar has become a national leader in embolization-based treatments—minimally invasive procedures that close targeted blood vessels using advanced X-ray guidance. He has performed over 5,000 embolizations, treating conditions such as uterine fibroids, hemorrhoids, and obesity through innovative, non-surgical techniques.

A pioneer in the field, Dr. Morar was among the first physicians in the nation to publish research on hemorrhoidal artery embolization (2005) and later co-authored the landmark GET LEAN Study, the first peer-reviewed clinical trial demonstrating the safety and effectiveness of bariatric embolization for weight loss. His groundbreaking work laid the foundation for today’s Hunger Block Procedure®, which helps patients overcome weight loss plateaus and control hunger by targeting the body’s main hunger hormone, ghrelin.

As a native of Ohio, Dr. Morar has owned and operated his own outpatient Interventional Radiology practices in Cincinnati and Dayton for more than 18 years. He currently serves as part-time faculty at the University of Cincinnati, teaching radiology residents and fellows, and provides advanced Interventional Radiology services at Mercy Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.

Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Morar is deeply involved in global healthcare philanthropy, helping build medical infrastructure and Interventional Radiology programs in rural India. He is a lifetime member of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and serves on several educational committees dedicated to raising awareness about minimally invasive treatment options that improve patients’ lives through science, compassion, and innovation.
